Shimla leads in the use of chemical fertilisers

The total consumption of fertiliser in Himachal Pradesh for year 2024–25 was 59,990 metric tons (MT). Over the years, especially from 2021–22, the usage of chemical fertiliser has decreased in the state.

Shimla district ranks first in the use of chemical fertilisers in Himachal Pradesh (12,643 MT), followed by Una (10,235 MT) in second place, and Kangra the in third place (7931 MT). Kinnaur district used the least amount of fertiliser (436 MT).
