This is being considered a significant initiative in the field of fisheries. With the aim of strengthening the rural economy, the state government has decided to establish the state’s first integrated aqua park in Nadaun, Hamirpur district, at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
A detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared by ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar. This initiative is a step towards establishing fisheries as a profitable and sustainable enterprise in the state.
This park will serve as a hub for the dissemination of modern freshwater aquaculture technologies. The project will promote activities such as fish seed production, feed manufacturing, value addition, processing, and marketing.

Special focus on these species
The aqua park will focus on the high-quality seed production of various fish species, as shown in Table 1.
