Most Welcoming Regions on Earth: Himachal bags 5th position

Himachal Pradesh ranked fifth globally on the list of the most welcoming regions on Earth. The ranking was prepared by Booking.com, a leader in travel bookings, during the 14th annual Traveller Review Awards, announced in February 2026.

The rankings were based on reviews of more than 370 million travellers.

Notably, it is the only Indian state to feature in the top 10. Mexico’s Hidalgo topped the list; this ranking is based on over 370 million verified traveler reviews from around the world.

Himachal is the only place in India to be featured on the list. Hidalgo, Mexico, secured the top spot. Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, Navarra in Spain, and Idaho in United States ranked higher than Himachal Pradesh in the list.
